"To be fair..."
To be honest, I didn't think I was going to be able to do a new post for a while. Someday I will be able to share the last 24 hours of Bill's precious life, but not this week. However, something happened tonight that I had to share. It is said that the way we treat others reflects to what extent we follow our Savior in loving one another. We show our love for Him when we stop to assist others. That was how Bill lived his life. Tonight I asked Lindsay to get something from Bill's email that I needed for business. While she was looking at his email, she came across the one that the ward High Priest group leadership sent out about the funeral. In our ward, when there are opportunities for service, we have mass emails for Relief Society and High Priests. The email that went out to the High Priests said, "I am sure that all of you want to help set up for the funeral on Friday. To be fair, we will use the first six that respond to this email." I think that statement is an accurate reflection of how Bill's fellowmen felt he treated them.

so sweet and so true. there are so many people love him. it is such a testament to the amazing person that he is.
Mary Kay, Emily alerted me and directed me to your blog... I am shocked... so sorry to hear this. I don't know what to say. Bill was so loved and appreciated. (As are you!!) You will always be the most favorite YW's president of my girls and a very kind and true friend in need to me. Bill was a wonderful bishopric counselor and we loved seeing him sitting on the stand. We knew all was well with the ward with him up there.
And even though we are "far away" in Idaho, we will still miss him. We wish you the Lord's choicest blessings and loving comfort. And even though it sounds like a cheap cliche, you are indeed in our prayers. Thank goodness for the gospel and the comfort we can find there. I remember well how I used to cry myself to sleep whenever I thought about death, before I learned about the church. It is still hard, but not desperate any more. Give our love to your sweet girls and their families.
